The Wealthy Bachelor

There was a lot of freedom given in the design of this home, and it was a blast to build a sprawling mansion in the style of a gil-heavy bachelor. Dark wood with bright accents, lots of natural light, and a swanky bar all make for a luxurious large home that doesn't feel too crowded or dim.

The billiard table especially was a fun build adapted from other housing enthusiasts, and really popped with the addition of the "shaded" window combos using the new Doman Restoration windows!

2F was primarily personal space. The bedroom was built with bright accent walls, a windowed desk area, and an inviting fireplace flanked by a window wall (unpictured). The bathroom was built in a long space on the other side of the bedroom, complete with a "flushing" toilet and light-framed bathtub. And the kitchen/dining room was a surprising amount of fun to build using tricky architecture and non-traditional barrier furniture!

The basement was a lot of fun - the owner had a pleasant bar with similar color themes and the crystal tower structure prior to the commission - I redid it to fit the theme of the housing, but kept the charming Shiva Chandelier/Crystal Tower combo and color themes. The bar uses some floating windows and layered partitions, along with a Gordian centerpiece and chronometer combo (which lights up internally when activated!). The best little surprise is the light from the strained glass streaming over the bar shelves at the right time of day!

A very simple, clean build outside! The center walkway was adapted from a previous Housing Snap post, which also inspired a Hingan-themed take on the beautiful Cherry Tree sitting space. On the other side, we have a quiet water garden, and a little fun with a striking dummy facing down a fearsome foe!
