Fae Fishing Hole

This is meant to be a sister build of my Il Mheg design! For the same person as well :D They allowed me to have full freedom. Just wanted an underwater fae-like theme. Once it was mentioned that a fish tank was requested in the design, I kept thinking of the fishing holes in Zelda games. Specifically, the one from Twilight Princess! So, I decided to go with an underwater cave that is connected to a fishing shack.

I had to do a lot more planning this time around, because I didn’t want to have another situation where I was trying to do the ceiling at the end of the build. So I planned out how it was going to be enclosed first. The fish tanks up top weren’t really planned, but I put them there as placeholders. Then the more I looked at the fish tanks, the more they stuck. They also fit so well with how the waterfalls were spaced out.

The fishing shack was heavily inspired by Zelda interiors. I looked at the fishing hole in Twilight Princess and Ocarina of Time. Then I came to the realization that FFXIV lacks items that would be seen in a fishing spot >.> I had a lot of trouble picking items to fit what I had in mind. I’m glad that the weaver table exists though! I really wanted to display fishing thread, and the top of it was so perfect.

Out of everything in the build, I think the areas with the trees are my favorite! They add so much contrast. I also loved the little mushrooms throughout. Making them in different colors was so fun. I’m so happy with how the entire thing turned out ;-;
