This was my personal home.
This was my first real attempt at building a modern home. I knew I wanted something with natural, earthy palette - almost Scandinavian in style
that would feature a lot of natural light during the day.
I also wanted to include some modern Japanese elements, taking heavy inspiration from Japandi styles.
However, I wanted to try something different, and go for a night time build since, at the time, I hadn't seen many takes on this.

I knew that my home had to be built around a feature fireplace.
I wanted to use an open floorplan and split levelling - both on the floor and ceiling to segment the space, trying to keep a cozy feeling whilst also being open and communal.
I hoped to create a welcoming atmosphere, one that feels clean but also lived in.

I decided to prioritise on detail over space.
To keep the illusion of there being more to my homes, I like to use doors to imply that it is shut off.
I have constantly come back to my home and tweaked it over the time I have owned it - and will continue to do so as new items get added,
or I figure out a more efficient way to achieve the results I want.
